The girls in room 28

Since the opening of the exhibition on September 23, 2004 in Schwerin, as part of the "Verfemte Musik" competition of the Jeunesses Musicales Landesverband MV, the exhibition was on display in many places. The contemporary witnesses were often guests, sometimes all eight women who actively participated in our remembrance project were there. Various events took place as part of the exhibition - readings, eyewitness talks, commemorative events, school projects. The exhibition was often used as a supporting program for performances of the children's opera Brundibar shown. Then some of the "girls from room 28" played in the opera, everyone saw them and the songs remained unforgettable for them.

Thanks to

I would like to say a big thank you to all the organizers and friends who have shown the exhibition over the years. Each individual contributed to the project being able to develop further. I would also like to thank all the sponsors of the project. I also thank you Thomas Rietschel and Volker Ahmels. Even before the book and exhibition saw the light of day in 2004, they found great interest in what was emerging. Thomas Rietschel, then general secretary of Jeunesses Musicales Germany and initiator of the music education Brundibar project, invited us to Weikersheim in 1999. Volker Ahmels, head of the Jeunesses Musicales MV and initiator of the "Verfemte Musik" competition, gave us the opportunity to present the exhibition as part of this festival in Schwerin on September 23, 2004 to open for the first time. This was three years before the founding of the association Room 28 eV
